[PHPTAL] latest is beta?

Hi, I downloaded and upgraded phptal here the other day using the latest 
link as advertised on the webpage. The result was that I got phptal 
version 1.1.7 - not 1.0.10 as expected.

This leads me to two questions:
a) Is 1.1.7 stable? How beta is it?
I have already upgraded a lot of code to handle this version before I 
realized what had happened. I really do not want to go back.

b) Why is 1.1.4 stated as the latest release on the webpage?
