[Neko] haxe neko ffi issues

hi all.
I'm writing an interface for sedna <http://www.sedna.org/>, and am having
the following problem:

If I pass a string through sedna to xquery ( SEexecute ) with a syntax
error, even through the ffi returns the value from the c function, neko
hangs.

Is there any known behaviour in neko that would cause this, or should I
look to sedna?
