[haXe] Re: Screenweaver stops accepting input

First, a recap of the problem:

Occasionally on windows using a swhx hosted AS2 project, all input (keyboard
and mouse events) stop being sent to (or maybe processed by) the
application. The flash application appears to continue running, but with no
way to interact with it. This is not caused by any kind of alt-tab focus
issue. It happens in full screen and in windowed mode. This never happens
when using the same application hosted in a browser or the stand alone
flash-player. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes we can go for days
without seeing it, sometimes if affects the same machine over and over until
a reboot. We have some machines where this behavior has never been observed
on. We test extensively on OSX and have never seen this problem there.

Some background on the application:

This is educational software aimed at the school market. It's the second
version of the program, and the first version has already been implemented
in thousands of schools across the US. The swhx app is just a small loader
that reads a config file, then downloads and runs a swf from a server
installed in a school.

Where we are:

We've tried some of the more obvious tweaks. Such as trying a different
version of the flash plugin and varying the way the app is initialized. Our
QA department is trying to narrow down a set of circumstances where the
problem is more likely to occur but are having a tough time since the
problem is so intermittent. They're basing this on machine specs, OS
installed, etc.

Any ideas on strategies to track down the problem would be greatly
appreciated.

Haxe/Screenweaver are both awesome and I believe them to be our best bet for
a successful launch, but this bug is a show-stopper for us. Our beta date
is quickly approaching and the decision to abandon screenweaver for
something else will be forced upon me soon. Unfortunately, I'm out of ideas
on this.

Thanks,
-Marc
